A Virgo's Worst Nightmare

Dirty
Darn, this cat likes to roll in dirt,
I guess to mask his scent for better chances in his hunt.
I am afraid he likes birds and their eggs,
I don't mind my cat keeping the mice on their toes.
Of late he has no inclination of coming home for the night.
I fear that these bites,
are not love bites and are not signs of affection,
despite the fact that they were sustained
while the planet Venus crossed our Sun.
My pretty kitty seems unconcerned.
The other night, 1:30 a.m., I woke to high pitched screeches,
my cat again in an altercation with yet another opponent,
so uncivilized!

Caught

Caught!

Caught in the act of nibbling on Catnip I had brought home of course for our Pretty Kitty - success!

Seconds

Sticking his nose in to where for once it does belong.
The Pretty Kitty goes for a second helping of Catnip,
while Isabella looks dubious.

Sticking His Nose
"Is he really supposed to be up there? You not gonna object?"

Maybe my Isabella-girl still remembers the one time, years ago, when they ate ALL of my freshly acquired flowers out of that whiskey barrel - I was livid when I discovered that not one bit of flower power had remained while I had been out for only one hour in celebration of my Spring brightening efforts with a cup of coffee.

My kitty threw up again this time thankfully in the early morning, rather then the middle of the night. I want to grow a variety of grasses from sprouted Wheat, Barley, maybe Oats as both, cat and dog (Saemi and Sumo) like to graze. They might as well feast on organic greens rather then the kind infested with pesticides and god-dess knows what. Sometimes I worry if all that throwing up of Saemi the cat and Isabella the one dog is normal?

It was a freezing night, temperatures fell drastically despite our longing for Spring. I was glad I took my plants, including the Catnip back indoors. 6 AM I woke to the sounds of a cat's whining. Instantly I jumped out of bed, raced down the stairs, this time without falling, opened the sliding door and to my great surprise found a black cat hightailing out over our high fence. I had to tweak myself, our Pretty Kitty spent the night indoors, but what I seen was his spitting image. I was reassured when our kitty came down and my eyes fell on his collar, yep, no mistake he is here and he must have friend outside, hooray, how sweet. Rarely ever does a cat dare to scale our fence much less come down in to the yard, at least to my knowledge, so this is unusual. Next will have to be capturing those two pretty black cats in one image. Wish me luck!

Schtrieler

Schtrieler, one that stays out all night and then sleeps in all day, or most. Yes, that is my Pretty Kitty, en Schlaumeier, an escape artist, now a tired one.

He may not have been wanting to listen to the wretched retching sounds of what must be I hope not a permanent guest of my new neighbor.

Unhappy Pretty Kitty

With pests (Mites) on my furry ones, I enforce a regimen of keeping them separated from areas in my home as much as possible. Meaning they are (for now) no longer allowed on the furniture, no longer allowed upstairs, and they no longer cuddle, much less sleep with me (each time I start to feel 'kribbely'.)

This has been hard on all of us. But our Kitty is really fed up with spending nights locked in to a tiny bathroom with two dogs that will not cuddle! So he has been staying out for the last few nights, o.k. with me now that it's warmer and we seem to finally be over the freezing temperatures, although  they still drop in to the thirties at night.

I do worry though when the kitty does not show up in the mornings or evenings and barely eats the food I offer. I am afraid he no longer feels welcome in my home, sadly maybe no longer feels safe with us. Isabella gave him a serious growl the other day when he got too interested in Sumo's canned food rather then his own kibble. It shocked me and I believe the Pretty Kitty.

This kitty has been very fussy with food of late and will refuse kibble  and hold out for the  canned junk food, he must have come to love with a former owner.

He also goes out stalking prey. I did place, reluctantly, a collar with a bell on him, so his hunting efforts may be unsuccessful. Here I finally caught up with him today in the early afternoon and brought him some of his favorite canned junk food and then had a good talking to with him. Hard to explain the necessary restrictions to my furry ones.

My Mucho-Macho Lover-Boy

Mucho-Macho Lover-Boy
Pretty Kitty stays slim and trim by scaling our 7 feet fence to escape and to exercise his freedom to torment our new neighbor's cat.

2 Year Anniversary

2 Year Anniversary

2 years ago exactly our Pretty Kitty, Mucho-Macho-Lover-Boy, Saemi, formerly San, joined our pack, I thought temporarily, but we were able to keep this charmer, luck bringer and mice-dispeller.

Pretty Kitty up on the ledge

His responsiveness impressed and endeared me to him right away. One shush, and he would stop nibbling on a plant, or get off where he wasn't welcome.

Here I am in search of catness, this mysterious quality of cat, that is so different from dogs. This kitty is street smart and seemingly unafraid. He will approach any dog when he deems the time right.

Our Lover-Boy has now finagled for 2 years, trying to get up close to cuddle with Sumo. His desire is so intense and his approach so devious, as he inches his way closer.

1. Encounter of the Pretty Kitty.

These are my pups on their first encounter with a cat in our home. Isabella's quizzical look is priceless and so very familiar. She never been close to a cat before while Sumo had lived with one prior. His tendency is to start licking and cleaning himself just like a cat.

Thankfully we never had a fight. In the beginning I was concerned about the sudden swipes coming from the Pretty Kitty, just as they were getting more comfortable with him. Now I understand this was his way of demanding respect and attention which he gets now from both. My Isabella-girl I think is really impressed with his ability to scale the fence. This must have contributed in great parts to his current good looks and loss of weight.

I never imagined sharing my tiny home, with three furry ones, much less sleeping with them on a narrow single bed, which now I really enjoy! I can feel the benefits of snuggling up to other mammals. I bet my heart opens, my blood pressure lowers and I can attest to the improvement of my mood in general. I even fidget less.

Sumo-Isabella-Saemi

We are very lucky to count our black cat as part of our pack!
